How Medical Weed Helped Me with My Depression

Depression can be caused by a variety of things, and also by nothing. It is not fully understood what fuels its engine, but scientists usually revolve around: chemical imbalance, chronic stress, excessive inflammation and emotional trauma.

Regardless of the cause, depression is marring for both the person who suffers from it and the ones around them. It feels like you’re in a water tower and you don’t care to get out.

It really puzzles me to see marijuana connected with narcotics… dope and all that crap. It’s a thousand times better than whiskey—it’s an assistant—a friend.

I’ve battled it for years, with both psychological training and medications and I didn’t feel like anything improved. Luckily, I finally gave medical marijuana a chance. I’ve heard many things about it, and even though I was very skeptical, I had a tiny hope.

How It Helped

My shrink always said my depression is caused by chronic stress and through-the-ceiling anxiety. I’m unable to relax unless my girlfriend is staying with me. That happens once a week, on the weekend, so 5 days a week I’m a war machine.

My shrink is also the one that recommended me cannabis oil. He wrote down the recommended dosage and told me to take it once my mind started to jump off the rails. I did, and I felt amazing.

I wasn’t fully stress-free because let’s face it, it’s less likely I’ll ever be. I feel strange when I’m not stressed out of my mind. However, I did feel a lot better once I took the few drops prescribed by the shrink.

My nerves seemed to de-tense a little bit and I was able to have a good night’s sleep. I didn’t wake up once, like I did so many nights before, only to start smoking with the lights off.

The best thing about this weed oil is that it makes me sleepy. Of course, it’s just a consequence of being exponentially more relaxed than before. Nowadays, even if I’m a little depressed, I don’t worry about it because I can go to sleep almost instantly and it won’t chew on my brain for hours.

No pills

Before I tried medical cannabis, I took various medications like Prozac, Zoloft, and Trazodone. Cross my heart: none of these ever helped as much as medical weed did.

Now not only do I save a ton of money I would’ve spent of pills, but I also stopped carpet-bombing my body with all sorts of chemicals that can have a lot of side-effects worse than the depression itself.

The Bottom Line

If you suffer from depression, I wholeheartedly recommend you try medical weed. You will be blown away by the results.

Obviously, you cannot get it without the prescription of a doctor, because marijuana dispensaries won’t sell it to you unless you’ve got proof that you have a condition that can be treated with it.

I can ensure you’ll feel a lot better than when you’re on uppers. You won’t be nauseous or too revved up to even function however efficiently. I hope you’ll make the right call and get yourself a treatment that actually works.
